Work Permits
Date posted: April 19, 2012
Obtaining work permits for non-Irish or non-EEA employees can be difficult. One option is to apply for a Contract Service Provider concession. This category is open to employers based outside the state (supplier) who service clients in Ireland. It is generally for employees earning over €40,000.00 but is open to employees earning between €30,000.00 and €40,000.00 (in some cases). Evidence of the contract between the supplier and the Irish client is necessary. The minimum period for any placement is 90 days. Employee must have been on the payroll of the supplier for 12 months prior to application. The supplier must employ more than 50% EEA employees at the date of making the application.

€42,000 Award From Injuries Board
Date posted: April 2, 2012
The car in which our client was travelling was struck by another vehicle that crossed to the wrong side of the road. Our client suffered soft tissue injuries and psychological effects. The driver of the other vehicle initially threatened to sue our client but proceedings never materialised. We intimated a claim on behalf of our client and subsequently submitted the claim to the Injuries board.ie. While the claim was still with the injuries board, the insurance company acting for the other driver invited us to a settlement meeting where we advised our client to reject an offer of €30,000.00. We continued with the claim to the Injuries board and our client subsequently received an assessment from the Injuries board in excess of €42,000.00, which was accepted.
