The Minister of Justice has announced a further extension to immigration permissions to deal with the issues created by the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.
The Notice (dated 22 December 2020) confirms that all immigration permissions that are due to expire between the 21 January 2021 and 20 April 2021 are automatically extended by the Minister to the 20 April 2021.
The Notice can be viewed here - http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/Home .
Any permission that was renewed by the previous notices which therefore had a new expiry date between 21 January 2021 and 20 April 2021 is automatically renewed by this notice until 20 April 2021.
The extension also applies to non-EU/EEA nationals who are residing in the State with existing permission under Directive 2004/38/EC (Free Movement Directive), subject to the requirement that the person continues to comply with the requirements of the Directive.
Changes to Appointments:
The Notice also confirms that all renewals in the Dublin area are now being processed online only and the system has been available for all applicants since 20 July 2020 at https://inisonline.jahs.ie . Renewal applications will continue to be accepted.
The Registration Office in Burgh Quay will close from the 23 December 2020 until further notice. Those who had appointments scheduled for first time registrations should expect to be contacted directly by the Immigration Service for re-booking.
