Injunction Against Landlord

Our client operates a café within a larger commercial building and quarrelled with its landlord about the terms.

The landlord changed the locks on the premises during one night, shutting down the café and potentially putting 6 people out of work.

Within two days of the lock out, we secured a High Court injunction, preventing the landlord from doing anything with the premises and within 10 days our client was back in business with compensation for disturbance and legal costs to be paid by the landlord.

An interim injunction will only be granted in situations where damages will not be an adequate remedy and the justice of the situation demands the making of an interim order.
